Mid – Term elections on 2 November 2010 warranted project: Call for Peace to look into the profiles of the ‘Key’ personnel of the United State of America who, at present, are responsible to run ‘Politics’ of USA. The personnel run ‘Politics’ of State are termed as ‘Politicians’.

Brothers and Sisters! ‘Politics’is defined by Muslim Scholar Imam Ghazali (RA):

  • ‘Politics’ is toreform public and lead them to the ‘Right Path’ that leads to success in this world and the life hereafter.
  •  ‘Politics’ is the ‘Policy’ that creates respect, love, affection, unityamong the people

Brothers and Sisters! The ‘essence’ of the definition of ‘Politics’ is to look after the people of the State in every respect, where all the people are united just like ‘One Unit’.

Brothers and Sisters! To unite people as ‘One Unit’the Head of the State has to be:

  • honest
  • selfless
  • trustworthy
  • considerate
  • knowledgeable

Brothers and Sisters! Barrack Hussain Obama is African American. The race has also been a factor where White race proclaims superiority over Black, Asianand otherwise races.

Brothers and Sisters! 1400 years ago Khatim ul Anbiyya (Last Prophet) Hazrat Mohammed (SAW) wiped out this ‘misconception’ in His (SAW) Last Sermon:

All mankind is from Adam and Eve. An Arab has no superiority over a non – Arab nor a non – Arab has any superiority over an Arab; Also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by Piety and good actions.

Brothers and Sisters! The ‘essence’ of the above sermon is derived by Presidents of USA:

The opening of the United States Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson in 1776, states as follows:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed;

The same concept appears in the Massachusetts Constitution of 1780, which was written mostly by John Adams. The Declaration of Rights of the Inhabitants of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts which opens that constitution states:

Article I. All men are born free and equal, and have certain natural, essential, and unalienable rights; among which may be reckoned the right of enjoying and defending their lives and liberties; that of acquiring, possessing, and protecting property; in fine, that of seeking and obtaining their safety and happiness.[

Brothers and Sisters! Barrack Hussain Obama was elected by American people to lead United States of America and make ‘Change’ as the policies of Republicans in their term of office, for eight years, earned:

  • bad name for USA because of two wars
  • wars were funded by ‘borrowings’ i.e. ‘printing’ money which led to ‘deficits’
  • ‘printing’ money increased ‘circulation of money’ which led to rise in ‘cost of living’
  • rise in cost of living led to outgoings exceeded incomings
  • excess of outgoings over incoming led to reducedpurchasing power
  • reduced purchasing power led to loss of jobsi.e. unemployment was increasing rapidly
  • loss of jobs led to foreclosuresi.e. houses repossessed by financial institutions and family became ‘homeless’
  • ‘homelessness’ and job loss led to affect the ‘faculties’ and ‘skills’ of the people
  • deficit, unemployment, foreclosures, lack of purchasing power led to ‘recession’
  • etc.

Brothers and Sisters! Barrack Hussain Obama, when he assumed office of the President of USA had to deal with:

  • contracting economy
  • unemployment
  • repair the image of USA
  • foreclosures

STIMULUS PACKAGE

Brothers and Sisters! Stimulus Package helped where:

  • AIG was bailed out that saved jobs, business over 34 countries
  • General Motorswas given ‘new entity’ where 244,000 jobs were saved and within a year it made profits plus earned foreign exchange by exports and saved foreign exchange as USA did not have to import cars and trucks. Had GM been put into liquidation, as it was plan of Republicans, United States had to import cars and trucks from abroad.
  • Chrysler  was merged with Fiat which also became profit making company and likewise GM earned and saved foreign exchange by exports and no imports
  • Recovery Act helped businesses which were on the verge of ‘bankruptcy’
  • Foreclosure rate  would have been higher had Stimulus Package was not in operation
  • For the last nine months job creation outweigh job losses

Brothers and Sisters! To repair damage of USA, President Obama visited many countries in first year of his office including Muslim countries; Turkey and Egypt.

State of Union Address

President’s Address at Republican Conference in Baltimore



Brothers and Sisters! President Obama accepted invitation of Republicans to address them at their conference in Baltimore and also to answer some questions.

Brothers and Sisters! In his address President Obama highlighted the need of co –operation from Republicans and work in bipartisanship fashion. Healthcare Debate


Brothers and Sisters! Healthcare Reform was necessary. For this purpose President held a debate where the proposed Healthcare Reform Bill was debated and President Obama dealt with every objection raised by Republicans comprehensively. The Health care system has become complicated over the years and it is not possible, especially, in times of recession that costs can be lowered down and every issue is death with. At least the first step is taken by passing the Healthcare Reform Bill which will lead to further reforms over the years. The mess which have been created over the years cannot be cleaned overnight, it will take yearsthe policies to be effective.

Cairo Speech

Brothers and Sisters! President Obama’s visit to Cairo is a historic visit and he delivered historic speech where he offered hand of friendship to Muslim world and this has been appreciated by Muslims all over the world except a few. Please read file: No 3 Speech in Cairo under title: Speeches.

CONCLUSION

Brothers and Sisters! If you look at the policies of President Obama, realistically, you will see that he kept his ‘promises’ which he made during his campaign and making every effort to make ‘change’ he promised. For this purpose the President chose the best brains for the key posts to work in his administration where everyone used his/her talents to overcome the atrocities created by ‘Recession’ which was the result of Republican’seight years In office.

Brothers and Sisters! Being Senator for 35 years and running for Presidential nomination indicate that he has knowledge, experience and observation of ‘Politics’ of USA. He has proved right hand of President Obama.

Jill Biden (Mrs): Second Lady

  • Hillary Clinton had been First Lady for eight years till year 2001. Former President Bill Clinton had a successful term of office. His success is supported by the fact that when he left office of President of USA, there was surplus of $2billion. This indicates that Hillary Clinton being first Lady had comprehensive knowledge, observation and experience what goes on in the White House.
  • Hillary Clinton ran for nomination as President of USA. At one point in time she was favourite to win nomination. This indicates that American people had entrusted her to run the ‘Politics’ of USA. In other words, she had talents to be President of USA.
  • However, nomination was won by Senator Barrack Hussain Obama. The Job of Secretary of State is, virtually, next to the President of USA. President Obama was looking for the talented people where he nominated Hillary Clinton as Secretary of state and it was approved by the Senate and Congress.
  • Hillary Clinton played a constructive role in repairing the image of USA which had been damaged by the policies of Republican Party.

Bill Clinton: Former President of USA

  • Bill Clinton was elected as governor of Arkansas in 1978 at the age of 32.
  • He was elected as Presidentin 1992.
  • When he left office of the President of USA, there was surplus off $2billion which speaks for his economic success
  • After leaving office of President of USA he created William J Clinton Foundationto promote and address international causes such as treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS and global warming.

PRUDENCE OF PRESIDENT OBAMA

Brothers and Sisters! I believe, in view of the profile of the ‘Key’ members of the team, you must appreciate that President Obama has been ‘prudent’ in selecting the team to deal with the issues which he inherited and the American people has been facing e.g. deficit, high unemployment, foreclosures, bad image of USAetc.

Brothers and Sisters! Let us look at the perspective which made president Obama to choose or nominate the ‘Key’members of his team.

Joe Biden as Vice President

Brothers and Sisters!

  • Joe Biden has clean record of his personality and character.
  • Determination to complete job and not left unfinished.
  • Cool minded and able to look at the issue from all angles
  • Her wife Jill Biden also a factor for choosing Joe Biden as Vice President as she was intelligent, qualified and had a lot of experience which could be utilised in dealing with issues. If you look at her records you will see that she played a constructive role in boosting the Morals of the students.

Hillary Clinton: Secretary of State

Brothers and Sisters!

  • Normal game of politics is that one does not want his opponent to be part of his team. But President Obama nominated Hillary Clinton for the post which is next to President of USA because he was after the talented people who want to serve American people.
  • At the same time, credit goes to Hillary Clinton as well she has been loyal to President and repaired the bad damage of USA due to Republican policies. Had she any score to settle with President Obama who defeated her in nomination race, she was in a position to abuse her powers.

Bill Clinton: Former President of USA

Brothers and Sisters! Bill Clinton is not part of his team but President Obama exploited his talents to deal with various issues. Moreover, he must be advising his wife how to repair bad image of USA and also how progress can be made to enhance the relationship of USA with other countries.

Arne Duncan

Brothers and Sisters! Erne Duncan has utilised his experience to reform the education system which was left in disarray due to the two wars by the Republican party.

Michelle Obama

Brothers and Sisters! Michelle Obama is not part of the team but being a housewife and First Lady she is contributing to deal with social issues e.g. programme: Let’s Move.  Moreover, she is a great help to keep her husband’s spirits at optimum level because President is affected psychologically as people have raised the issue of his birth and otherwise.

  • Barrack Hussain Obama is honest, confident, determined, self esteemed, cool minded, considerate and has concern for the people of America.
  • Barrack Obama has no political background. It is his confidence, determination and concern for American people that he has been confronting challenges of Republicans boldly and does not give way to their baseless attacks.
  • Anyone from Black origin inherits inferiority complex, consciously and unconsciously. I have observed him very closely during his speeches, visits to industrial units, state of Union Address, Cairo speech, Healthcare debate, Address and questions and Answers session at Republican conference in Baltimore, G 20 meetings, meetings with foreign heads of states. I have not come across a slight element of inferiority complex on his face or body language. This proves he being honest, determined and confident. The credit of these qualities goes to his mother, especially, his grandparentswho educated and brought him up in such environments where the concept of slavery was non existent.
  • It is his honesty, confidence and self esteem which made him popular all over the world. Before 4 November 2008 he visited many foreign countries and he was welcomed enthusiastically in every country and people took pride to be in his audience let alone when he met them shook hand and spoken with them.
  • Republicans invited him to address at their conference in Baltimore. This conference was open to public ‘live’. Republicans framed the questions in such a way where one can assess that they in fact invited him to ‘corner’ him. But with his confidence and determination he dealt with every question comprehensively. MSNBC journalists: Keith Olbermann, Rachael Maddow and Chris Mathew critically discussed the Question and Answer Session and proved that President Obama was heavy over 240 Republicans.   • Similarly, President Obama ruled out every objection which Republicans raised during Healthcare Debate.

Brothers and Sisters! Barrack Hussain Obama is not merely a politician but a Statesman like. Republicans does not want him to succeed. They are aware that his policies are on the ‘right’ lines and they can also see that the policies are producing results. But they do not want, with due respect, that an African American
President takes the credit to take a messy economy out of the ‘marsh’they had put in.

High Unemployment

Brothers and Sisters! When you will read file: No 6 Natural Economic Forces it will be realised that unemployment rate would have been much higher than 9.6% had Republicans been in power or their proposed policies were adopted.

Higher Deficit

Brothers and Sisters! As, because of Republican’s policies there would have been high rate of unemployment there would have been higher deficit and higher foreclosures.

 

How?


Because Republican’s policy was that they would not had Stimulus Package which would have led to AIG, General Motors and Chrysler into bankruptcy which in turn would have lead to job losses and job losses mean high rate of Foreclosures.

Repeal of Healthcare Reforms

Brothers and Sisters! Republicans are openly propagating
that when they will be in power they will repeal Healthcare Reform Bill. This means the economy will be in turmoilagain

Conclusion

Brothers and Sisters! In short, at this point in time, it is advisable that American support Democrats so that they assume control of both houses and let the economic and social policies take their course to be effectiveand produce results.
